House Framing
As soon as the foundation was finished, Matt Ziemba went to work on the rough carpentry. Matt completed the rough framing over the course of about 5 weeks.

Inside

This is a view from the future kitchen. Since the walls were unable to support themselves at this stage, each one had to be supported with several braces.

Stairway

Within a few days the second floor was constructed and stairways were installed to the basement and second floor. This picture was taken from what will eventually be the front of the great-room looking inward to the center of the house.

Beginning To Take Shape

With the rafter roof in place, the house starts to take shape. When Matt mentioned the "bad news" that there was a great view from the second story that we would never be able to see, we had to climb up and take a look. We were tempted to put dormers on the front of the house so we could see the view but decided not to since we didn't want our rustic look to turn into a cape cod look.

First Meal

Caught up in the excitement, we decided to christen the house by having our first dinner there. It was a little crude but it tasted great!

Porch

Once the porch deckings were put on, no one will ever know what was under the thing. Since we didn't want Geraldo to come around busting through the walls like it was Al Capones vault, we decided to take a few pictures before we sealed it in!

Pine Tree Flower

During the first couple of weeks in May we were intrugued with the new growth on the red pines. We had never seen a pine tree flower. Later on we learned that these things would shed an incredible amount of yellow pollen.
