Preparations Ceremony The Reception
Sunday Brunch The Honeymoon Return to Home Page
For our honeymoon we flew to Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior. The flight takes 30 minutes and is quite an experience.

While Paul sat in the co-pilot's seat I was relegated to the rear, but quite happily as the picture shows.

As we approached we could see the buildings of Rock Harbor Lodge on the island.
On arrival we took a short hike and this is a sample of the gorgeous scenery we enjoyed all week.
We took so many pictures that it isn't possible to show them all.
Another one of the shoreline.
Wouldn't you know it......a grasshopper followed us to the island.
The trail to the boat launching area. From here we were able to canoe for many miles around small islands.
One day we canoed to the east as far as we dared without going into the open waters of Lake Superior. We stopped here for a brief rest.
A fellow hiker offered to take this picture of us overlooking the water to the north and with Canada in the distance.
And for today, she's Queen of the Rock!
The balcony on the front of our motel that gave us wonderful views of islands and open water while we sat with suitable beverages in hand.
Alice and Kaye surprised us with a dinner at the Lodge upon our arrival.
A view of Rock Harbor Lodge restaurant.
Canoeing can be tiring, and it makes one hungry, so we packed a lunch to enjoy.
Paul says the view from the rear is best, but I suspect that while I'm paddling he's not.
On our last day's canoe trip we propped the camera on a large rock and were able to record the day for posterity.
We like to call her the "resident moose" because she was so tame that any picture takers didn't bother her.

The honeymoon trip is about to end as our pilot lands on the bay and returns us to the mainland.
