In late June 2003 Athena and Sasha visited for a week at the Ranch and learned about "living rough". Memere was happy to have their company. | Trying their hands with wood carving tools they demonstrate the bandages on their fingers. They did carve their names into the picnic table...successfully. |

During their Spring break Matthew and his friend, Sebastian visited. They spent their days playing Uno, having fun in the snow and generally, just being boys. |
Buddies for now, they enjoyed the sled run from the front porch steps, down the hill and into the trees. |

Haile and her mom, Anne were the first to initiate a sled run in the front yard. With a bit of practice they'll soon be contenders for the Winter Olympics. | Bruce and Haile snowshoed through the trees and Bruce was continually trying to find his way back home. He'd ask Haile the way while he stood hidden in the trees. |

Labor Day 2003 found us enjoying a cook-out with family and friends. Included are Kern and some of his family, Neil with Connie and her children, Roxanne and Len, Alison and Dave, and the proud owners of the Ranch. The gigantic grasshopper insisted on posing with everyone. |
