October 2003 Construction Notes
The weather was perfect for putting the wood planking on the gables. Unfortunately, we ran a little short and were unable to finish the north side of the building. The wood planks were cut from full logs and the natural edge of the logs were left intact. After knocking off the bark and kiln drying the planks, they provide a rustic look that complements the logs on the bottom of the structure.
South side of bulding.
Taking advantage of the scaffolding to stain and seal the second floor windows.
The finished south side.
North side of the building after we ran out of planks.
Taking advantage of the new fireplace.
