2007 Reunion

At the August 11 reunion, 13 families attended representing many sides of the Ward and Gilson clans.

Ray, Bruce and Paul went fishing at the Frankfort pier on Saturday. Ray displays the lure that was going to reel in the "big one". Luckily, the market in Honor had fresh fish so they could boast about bringing one home!
A spur-of-the-minute headdress contest was announced and Tim, Jake and Bruce rose to the occasion with gusto and creativity.

We've seen "The Little Mermaid", but who/what is this? Bruce strikes a most convincing pose at the Frankfort pier.

The four Kings were able to get together for the first time in 12 years and we certainly did enjoy each other's company. In front, Ray and Jan, and standing are Harlene and Joyce.
The Ward family was well represented at the reunion. In front are Bill, Mary and Dot. Second row: Cuff and Bill. In the back row: Paul, Connie and Lena.

Enjoying the shade that Neil's tent provided are Fran, Kern and Kathy and perhaps Matthew in the background.

From the smile on his face, we have to assume that Neil was holding the winning Euchre hand.

On Saturday we had a pig roast as the main attraction. Ray and Tim could barely contain themselves once the caterers displayed the main course, complete with apple in mouth.
Dinner was followed by an ice cream bar setup that was manned by the youngsters. Haile helped with dishing the ice cream, Cameron and Matthew offered toppings encouraging us to indulge. "Are you sure you don't want more goodies?" Kathy said "Sure".

Joyce and Ray are the twins in the King family and it is seldom that we have a picture of them together.

Jan and Ray enjoying a break from the deep conversation and reminiscing they were having.

Joyce and Traci taking a break from their deep conversation about life and men.
Visiting and catching up on each other's life are important aspects of a family reunion. Here Dot, Connie, Mary and Bill entertain each other.
Each contestant in the headdress competition had to explain his attire and then had to "strut" his stuff. Here, Bruce the Bomber says, "Somebody, call my cell phone."
Mary was able to catch the family in deep conversation, with Dot having her say at the moment.
Amy, Wayne and their well-behaved Husky dog, Rotax.

The dinner line-up at the pig roast that included various salads, corn on the cob and the delicious roasted beast. Haile is trying to decide whether to take one roll, or two.

After the Sunday brunch Paul and Harlene take a moment to enjoy each other's company.
Special family events always call for Paul's Sunday brunch where he serves his world famous waffles complete with numerous delicious toppings.
